The Deck
The seed of Arcana Cordis was planted in 2018. It would not be ready to surface for years.
The deck spent the better part of a decade in quiet incubation, gathering meaning before it had a final form. Work began in earnest in early 2025. It was completed in 2026.
The artwork was made in layers, painting digitally and physically and compositing the results together, texture upon texture. The technique was not predetermined. It was arrived at slowly, through experimentation, until the images began to feel like themselves.
The text was written by Chase Voorhees over the course of the deck's creation. Some of it came from lived experience. Some arrived as pure phrase, meaning unclear, insisting on a place in the work regardless.
How to Use This Deck
Hold the deck against your heart. Breathe. Arrive with a question, or simply with openness, and let the inquiry settle into your body before you draw.
